We were sold from the start. Ron offered to make us a complete dinner while we discussed our wedding needs, and it was soooo good!! Unlike many caterers we talked to, he wasn't put off by the fact that we were having a smaller wedding (30-40 people). Our wedding was a destination wedding, and he gladly included a "welcome dinner" the night before our wedding for all our guests! The food, price, caterers all were excellent! The servers were fun and friendly as well. I couldn't have asked for anything more!!!

My wife and I were very please to have Ron and his team at Smokehouse Catering as our Caterer. Ron and his wonderful staff were very responsive by either phone, email as well as in person. Their website was very helpful and any question that needed attention was quickly answered. Ron was quick to answer any questions we had and worked with us within our budget. In interviewing potential other caterers, Smokehouse stood out from others by being attentive to our requests as well as showing passion for culinary quality and professional product. While there were several caterers which provide excellent service, Smokehouse has combined it with great BBQ and can keep it classy. Ron and his staff were very professional through the entire process and made our wedding fun from our great tasting to the actual day. I think I received more complements on the food than I did on the wedding and venue together! I didn’t give 5’s all around only because of their current party supply company used to outsource linens and glassware etc were not super professional. While they don’t have anything to do with Smokehouse, ultimately it did reflect on the entire experience. However, I would highly recommend Smokehouse Catering services for any venue wedding and parties alike and will look forward to utilizing his company in my future catering needs through the years to come! This caterer is amazing! We had the tri-tip and chicken with a pasta side dish, 2 salads, and mixed vegetable. The meat was cooked to perfection, the pasta was delicious (even impressed the groom and family from New York!), the salads were amazing.. and the service was fantastic. They were very professional and on top of everything. They cooked the meat on site and had carving stations so it was so fresh and delicious! They provided all of the tables, chairs, and linens so we didn't have to find another vendor, cut and served the cake, served the champagne for the toast.. everything went so smoothly. They really helped make our day extra special! Recommend times 10!!

We used SmokeHouse Catering for my wedding on Oct. 22, 2011. Everything was PERFECT! I had some "trouble guests" that I was worried would be upset with a grilled dinner like this, but I ended up having LOTS of compliments from my guests. Everyone loved the food (the horseradish is AMAZING, even if you don't normally like horseradish!) The tri tip was cooked perfectly and the pork sliders were delicious!! The servers and bartenders were very friendly and took great care of our guests. I can't wait to have another big party just so I have a reason to get SmokeHouse out to cater for me again!

Smokehouse catered my September 30th wedding. They promoted an elegant BBQ and boy did they deliver. They put a bride at ease through the whole process. The entire staff was wonderful to work with. I made the best choice for having them cater my wedding. Every guest commented on how well the food was. Bride and groom went back for seconds. I highly recommend Smokehouse for any event! They'll make it special and yummy!!!!

Smokehouse Catering was amazing. The food was delicious, the service was amazing, and they are just great people. We were operating on a budget and got a GREAT price on the catering for our wedding, but we also got fantastic food. Our guests raved about all of it and we enjoyed the leftovers they left with us for days to follow. We were so happy with the food and service that we have since used them for other family celebrations and they will be our go to caterers should we ever need catering in the future. We could not recommend them more...

We had Smoke House do the catering for our wedding and they did a fantastic job. i'll be honest, the first thing that drew us to them was the price. compared to some of these caterers that charged *insane* amounts for food and then threw in hidden fees everywhere, Smoke House was very reasonably priced. plus, the quote that we got from them was very detailed so we knew exactly what we were paying for. the one thing that seemed a little hit an miss was the level of communication back and forth. at times, they answered emails quickly and attentively... however there were some times where the replies were not very prompt. especially when it's only *2 weeks* until the wedding, the last thing you want is to be stressing about why you haven't heard back from your caterer for a few days. also, on the day of the wedding, there was a little or no confusion. Other than those few small things, Ron *really* came through. The food was really good! actually, we had lots of people come up and tell us that too. IT WAS GOOD, TRI TIP out of this world. I have to point they didn't have much to work with as the kitchen was smalllllllll. they made it work AWSOME JOB

I hired Smokehouse Catering to cater my June wedding and they did a fantastic job with the food. Usually wedding food isn’t always the best, especially since it’s made in mass quantity. My husband and I wanted something different. We wanted something fresh and something edible and delicious. Smokehouse delivered all of that. I worked mostly with Joe, hammering out the details for the menu. He was not only a joy to work with but very helpful and flexible. The best part of Smokehouse is that they BBQ the food right at your location so all the guests could smell the yumminess. The only thing I would complain about is that the lead or banquet captain that was in charge the day of my wedding, wasn’t the best with thinking on his feet or eager to solve problems. My friend, who helped me with the day was there to help with the set up for the reception and her impression was that the guy “in charge” was really just there to cook. So it seemed like there wasn’t really anyone to go to if there was a problem. For example, at one point, we were missing a good number of forks. My friend asked the guy if he’s seen any of them and he told her that I must not have ordered enough. She didn’t accept his answer and didn’t give up. She looked under every table and found a crate that contained some of the missing forks. The girls who were part of the service staff at the buffet line were very sweet and pleasant but I wasn’t too keen on having photos of them in my photobooth (I don’t think they knew that I would get a copy of all the photos taken). Overall, if you want delicious food at a reasonable price…Smokehouse is a great choice. All my guests still rave about it!

Food and presentation was different to what was presented at the tasting. Lousy service - no help with table set up, no drink pouring, no help with tables clean up. They forgot the water and brought cheap white plastic forks with paper plates instead of promissed high quality plastic dishes. The piece of cake that we asked to be saved was left outside sitting on the sun.

Everyone at our wedding LOVED the food. The service was awesome too!

It has been a year since Smoke House catered my wedding, and I still remember it well enough to write a review! Now thats saying something! Ron and his team are fabulous! My husband and I had 3 other tastings that we were less than impressed with before our tasting at Smoke House. We showed up late for our tasting (because we thought we were heading to their downtown address) and they were very understanding and super friendly. My husband wanted to "settle" with the first caterer we tried UNTIL he tasted this food. We were in love and even gave a fork high five during our tasting. We didnt even have to talk about it, we already knew we were using them! They were wonderful throughout the entire planning process, seriously. I was shocked that they would answer my calls and make me feel like I was a priority even though I knew they were super busy. I even received returned calls at 7 pm after just leaving a message so they could answer silly questions I had. They are very devoted to their business and it seems like they are always able to be reached. And boy do they know how to cook meat! Yum! Our guests loved the food, as did we AND it was affordable! Loved the option of the fresh carved meat station and baked potato bar! Delish options for vegetarians too...my sister said the veg pasta was great! Everything is so tasty! Also rented all of the flatware, plates, glasses, tables and linens from them. It made life much easier to work directly with one business for all of these rentals. The only one thing I could say wasnt perfect, was that the head table didnt have champagne poured during the toasts. Im not gonna get all twisted into a bunch over this because everything else was perfect, it was just an honest mistake. We had wine to toast with, no biggie! Hire these guys for your wedding, you wont be disappointed! They are reliable and they are just good, friendly down to...

Dear Chefs at Smoke House Catering, Thank you so much for doing a fantastic job for our Wedding party held at Naval Air Station North Island. Our guests commented on how great the food was! We were happy we went the extra mile in offering our guests better options for fresh, properly prepared food on site, as opposed to using standard “catering out of a box” as so many weddings seem to use. In the end it turned out to be more cost effective and twice as good! We wanted the food to have as much thought and care as we put into our special event, and it did. You didn't let us down. Finally slowing down long enough to thank you and your wonderful staff for the Smith Wedding you recently catered and made it a total success! I had many, many compliments including more than one person say it was truly the “best catered meal they had ever had”. Ron, you were great in every way including being flexible enough to go with the change of locations with less than 24 hour notice. I know we will be using you again and have told tons of people about your professionalism and top-of-the-line delicious food.

I ate way more than I should have, and I knew I was doing it at the time, but I couldn’t resist eating more. The tri-tip was some of the best I’ve ever had, and even though the cake looked simple, it too was incredible. The general consensus from everyone who was there is pretty much the same. Great job!

The food delectable, the service unsurpassed (special appreciation for your daughter and son-in-law), the set-up perfect, and the clean-up immaculate! My husband and I are backyard BBQ people, not formal sit-down dinner people, so we knew exactly what we wanted when we were planning our wedding. Basically, we tasted their food, looked at the cost (<$20/person!), and we were hooked. They served tri-tip, chicken breast, veggie lasagna, and multiple salads. They cook the meat on-site, so it’s not dried out. The tri-tip was cooked perfectly. My friends who don’t typically like chicken breast because it can be dry, went back for seconds. Heck, my vegetarian friend even ate their meat! We also added on appetizers (yummy), lemonade, and iced water. They helped with the champagne pour, cake cutting, and clearing the tables (including re-packing the dishes for the rental company). It’s a nice family business, and Ron (the owner) is great! Possible downside is that they only have (high-quality) disposable dishes, but this didn’t deter us, as we rented them separately.

for my daughter's wedding on Saturday June 28, in Bonsall! Everyone loved the food -- it was fresh, delicious and plentiful! It was perfect--the way you come in, cook, serve, clean up and leave! Everyone loved the food, we had 80 people show up and ordered for 100 and everyone went back for 2nds and 3rds.

Great food, very reasonable price. They even charge less for kids than adults. Cooked right on site so it was super fresh. Allowed us to wait until a week before to finalize our numbers. Delicious!! We got lots of compliments on the food. We had a BBQ at the in-laws instead of a sit-down rehearsal dinner (glad we did - much less formal and a good way for people to mingle) and they catered that as well. Only complaint was that they forgot the coffee at the reception so the coordinator had to run out and buy some and they forgot the cake at the rehearsal dinner. didn't charge us for either one, but was still a little annoying. Still - even with that, I would definitely use they again - like I said, delicious and reasonably priced.
